Job description
To work within the Snap-on Compliance department to analyse the key data information points reported to the regulatory bodies, to draw conclusions and trends as to whether business activities remain aligned with regulatory obligations.
The role will involve analysis of data sets in relation to sales and receivables activities, 1st line assurance activity, complaint volumes and types. It will also require the production of Management Information to support the work undertaken by the Snap-on Compliance department.
These are the main duties of the Compliance Analyst, but it is the nature of the job that each activity will have its own range of demands.
- Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
- Organising and transforming information into comprehensible structures.
- Using data to identify trends in the lending and collections activities as they relate to the regulatory requirements in these areas.
- Performing statistical analysis of data.
- Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs.
- Creation of new reports within Tableau and SSRS based on the agreed scope and specifications
- Focus should be on the aesthetics of management information to allow for fast and effective decision-making.
- Preparing reports and presenting these to management or other key stakeholders.
- Monitoring and championing high data quality and removing corrupt data.
- Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements.
- Monitor the performance of the compliance assurance programme and recommend appropriate steps to improve its ongoing effectiveness
In this role they will recommend corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and where required, manage compliance projects (as part of the overall Compliance Monitoring Plan). They will ensure the delivery of key tasks and the appropriate management of other individuals participating with the project delivery. With this in mind, they should be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, all appropriate regulatory bodies and other relevant third parties (e.g. external advisors).
Ideally they will have a degree or sufficient experience in a field such as maths, statistics, or computer engineering or similar educational qualifications (A-Level etc.). Ideally with a with a minimum 2-years relevant experience within a financial services environment. The ideal candidate will be data orientated with a high attention to detail. They will have strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with shareholders. They will have a solid understanding of data sources, data organisation and storage. They should have strong IT and mathematical skills. IT skills such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, Microsoft Office 365 with a deep understanding of statistical methodologies and data analysis
