Job description

To work within the Snap-on Compliance department to deliver the key elements of the Snap-on compliance assurance activities (Policy Reviews; Exception Tracking and Reporting; Training; Corrective Actions).

Helping to maintain the Compliance Monitoring Plans and associated Risk Models to meet the regulatory requirements faced by the business. Providing accurate and timely management information, including commentary on key subjects that are on the regulatory horizon.

Support the Snap-on franchise network with their regulatory knowledge and ensure that where they function as an Appointed Representative of Snap-on Finance UK Limited (SOF) those activities are completed in accordance with SOF instructions.

These are the main duties of the Compliance Coordinator, but it is the nature of the job that each activity will have its own range of demands.

  • Assist with implementing and reviewing the policies, procedures, and processes necessary to maintain a robust culture of compliance. Ensure that enterprise-wide initiatives are undertaken with consideration of all applicable regulatory requirements, with particular focus to Financial Conduct Authority Consumer Credit obligations and Data Protection.
  • Maintain the Financial Services and Data Protection policies and procedure documents for both Snap-on Finance UK Limited (SOF) and Snap-on U.K. Holdings Limited (SOUKH) in line with all regulatory and business requirements.
  • Conduct compliance related activities necessary for UK regulated business units to maintain their authorisation to conduct Consumer Credit business activities in the UK.
  • Provide management information of assurance findings and associated remediation plans on a regular basis to the management team and key stakeholders to keep them informed of the operation, progress, and effectiveness of compliance monitoring plan.
  • Assist in delivery of compliance regulatory training programme, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
  • Monitor the performance of the compliance assurance programme and recommend appropriate steps to improve its ongoing effectiveness.
  • Recommend corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
  • Assist with, and where required, manage compliance projects (as part of the overall Compliance Monitoring Plan). Ensuring the delivery of key tasks and the appropriate management of other individuals participating with the project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, all appropriate regulatory bodies and other relevant third parties (e.g. external advisors).
  • Collaborate with other departments such as legal, Credit, Portfolio Management and Customer Service to investigate and resolve compliance issues as they arise. Ensuring consistent and timely handling of regulatory issues

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 GCSE’s (or 'O' level equivalent), or 2-4 years of related experience within a financial services environment. Related experience would ideally be in a compliance role but other experience in an assurance / audit role would be considered.

The Compliance Coordinator will have excellent computer skills and knowledge including Microsoft Office and have strong written and verbal communication skills. They will have a positive attitude and outlook strong people skills. They should be able to work independently, will have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
